Before he was elected Chair in 2021, Steven Auclair held leadership roles in the political, non-profit, and government sectors.  Steven recently served as President of the Greater Oxnard Organization of Democrats, an Assembly Delegate for the 44th Assembly District, and the 2020 CADEM Coordinated Campaign Field Coordinator for Ventura County.

In recognition of his leadership, Steven was named the 2020 Ventura County Activist of the Year and the 2021 Stonewall Democrats of Ventura County member of the year. In July 2021, Steven was appointed the State Lead Co-Chair of the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee of the California Democratic Party.
