Second Vice Chair - Jesse Luna
The Second Vice Chair is the ranking officer of the Central Committee in the absence or inability of the Chair and First Vice Chair to act.
Jesse P. Luna is the Second Vice-Chair of the Ventura County Democratic Central Committee Board.
Jesse grew up in Los Angeles and in Pasadena, California, the son of two migrant parents.
Jesse graduated with an AB degree in African and Afro-American Studies from Stanford University where he also took a leadership role in working with community groups including seniors, clergy and youths.
He later went on to earn a Masters in Computer Information Systems and also a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Denver.
Jesse is a Communications Specialist for SEIU 721, a public service union with over 95,000 members in Southern and Central California. In that capacity he has helped move people to action in campaigns like the Fight for $15, the fight to keep the Affordable Care Act, Citizenship Fairs as well as support for a myriad number of campaigns to support workers protections in Los Angeles and Ventura County.
Jesse taught for 8 years in the Los Angeles, Bay Area and, most recently, in Camarillo where he was a lecturer at California State at Channel Islands in the Business Department.
He has a long history in developing and managing online communities and in technology as a tech blogger, speaker, business co-founder, journalist, computer programmer, online marketer, and start-up business/tech consultant.
Jesse is a lifelong Democrat and has been involved in campaigns across California and Colorado as a communicator, volunteer, photographer, web developer and technology consultant.
Jesse is thrilled to be on the Board and to help the Central Committee use innovative tools to turn all of Ventura County Blue. He is also on the board of the Santa Clara Valley Democratic Club.
