Great feeling to see all the gargantuan effort of so many bring such results
at the polls !!! Many Dems and R's were made to think about what's happening
right under our noses. Ventura had great showing considering heavy R. population,
and was second in number of voters in entire State !

ROBERT SCHEER- it's for real EXTRA!! --via Virginia Rozalsky Perhaps most
disturbing is that the cancellation of Scheer's column in the Times after
more than 12 years was clearly a political decision taken by paper's new
publishers, who recently took control of the paper's opinion page from its
editors. The good news is it
will be syndicated to other media outlets by Creators Syndicate, and various
blogs etc.
(Pinch me ; I think I'm in Never Never Land)

We saved the Artic --via Sandy Emberland--in part
House rules committee announced it was DROPPING the planned
invasion of the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve from their version of the
budget bill. You generated 12,000 submissions on that one issue alone,
which may well have turned the tide. -----------
Now we have to do at least that well in challenging the immoral plan of
the
right-wing tax cut maniacs to recoup SOME of the money for even further
unconscionable gifts to their most wealthy cronies. With supporters of the
president's greed agenda dropping like flies in last Tuesday's election,
there is a REAL opportunity for major policy change if we speak out now,
especially with all members of the House up for re-election in just one
year.

Bits of Truthout:
Ted Kennedy | The President Should Be Held Accountable
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/111005Q.shtml
As Chalabi - the Pentagon's favorite Iraqi dissident - visits DC, Ted Kennedy
releases a statement criticizing both the administration's efforts and
Chalabi's own words that exaggerated threats and pushed our country's march
to war
in Iraq.
Janis Karpinski Is Rummy's Scapegoat
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/111005B.shtml
Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski - former commander at Abu Ghraib - says she was
hung out to dry by the Pentagon.
New York Times | President Bush's Walkabout
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/110805P.shtml
After President Bush's disastrous visit to Latin America, it's unnerving
to
realize that his presidency still has more than three years to run. An
administration with no agenda and no competence would be hard enough to
live with on
the domestic front.
FOCUS | John Nichols: Forcing Bush to Honor Veterans
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/111205Z.shtml
For those Americans who think George W. Bush has been wrong all along about
Iraq, it is entirely appropriate - and entirely possible - to support the
troops and oppose the president.

From Sharon:
As you might already know, MoveOn.org is the moving force behind getting
labor unions, small businesses, churches and other progressive organizations
to
sponsor 7,000 screenings of "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices"
in various
venues around the country. If you click on the following link,
http://action.bravenewfilms.org/event/wm_search.jsp?zip=93010&track=moveon
, you
will be able to find a showing in or around Ventura County. You can then
make plans to see this Wal-Mart film or one of the others that is screening.
... A good investment of your time.

John Kerry speaks: ----in part
---in just a few days' time, nearly 200,000 people have signed on to support
our demand that the President present a clear and concrete plan for Iraq.
We're starting with a call for the withdrawal of 20,000 American troops
over the
holidays, linked to the successful completion of December elections in Iraq
--
sending a signal to Iraqis that Iraq belongs to them. And we're pressing
the
Bush Administration to get it right with a new strategy that will bring
the
vast majority of our combat troops home by the end of 2006.
If you haven't signed yet, it's critical that you do so now:
Withdraw 20,000 troops over the holidays:
http://www.johnkerry.com/action/20000/index.php?source=8007
Our goal is to collect 400,000 signatures before Thanksgiving. That's
20,000 Americans stepping forward each day for 20 consecutive days in support
of our "20,000 troops home over the holidays" drive. -----
In less than a week, we'll be launching the next critical step in our
"20,000 troops home over the holidays" campaign. We'll be placing
impossible-to-ignore billboards in the home districts of Republican leaders
across the country.
The message on the billboards will be "Withdraw 20,000 troops over
the
holidays." The message behind the billboards will be even clearer:
"In 2006, no Republican candidate will get away with putting his or
her
loyalty to George W. Bush ahead of what's right for our troops and our country."
---
If they're not willing to lead, they need to get out of the way. We've
got to get them out of the way so that we can roll up our sleeves and move
America forward again. --- Let's push hard -- and let's promise each other
to not stop pushing until we
have put our America back on track.
Sincerely, John Kerry

BUSH PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY DESTROYED BY FLOOD-- from Julie S.
Crawford, Texas -- A tragic flood this morning destroyed the personal library
of President George W. Bush. The flood began in the presidential bathroom
where both of the books were kept. Both of his books have been lost. A
presidential spokesman said the president was devastated, as he
had almost finished coloring the second one. The White House tried to call
FEMA but there was no answer.
