Jack and Phyllis have been active in anti-war and progressive politics all of their married life (Phyllis even earlier, demonstrating for integration while at UNC Chapel Hill, NC in 1957, before MLK!) After 26 years as isolated Democrats in the reddest of Orange County they were delighted to discover the Ventura County Democrats when they retired and came to Camarillo in 2005. Jack served as Treasurer and then as President of the Democratic Club of Camarillo during the 2008 election, and has served as Controller for the County Party since February of 2014.
In addition to his part-time volunteer job working for the Party, Jack and Phyllis enjoy classes with the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Cal State Channel Islands, and playing old-time music at jams, dances and Civil War re-enactments.
